This is in the category of FUN FOOD for all ages! It is simple yet special. We serve it along side breakfast items as often as we serve it for dessert with ice cream.
1/2- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 - 2 bananas
- Equipment needed: kitchen torch or broiler
Wipe outsides of bananas to clean. Leaving skin on cut in half horizontally and then again vertically. You will have 4 pieces per banana. Place fruit side up and skin down onto baking sheet. Cover fruit with 1/4 inch layer of granulated sugar. Torch until sugar melts and browns. Cool slightly then remove banana peels; discard. Place banana brulee side up onto plate for serving. Serve immediately. “Brulee” with soften over time so best to do last minute.
