NUT CANDY CRUNCH
We have served this recipe many times to add “crunch” to our desserts! It is so easy to do with two ingredients and a raw nuts.
1 cup sugar
1 cup raw nuts (sliced almonds, rough chopped hazelnuts, peanuts and walnuts)
Combine sugar and nuts in wide heavy bottomed light colored pan over high heat. Stir constantly with heat resistant rubber scrapper. Scrape sides and bottom of the pan as mixture heats. When it starts to melt the sugar and smoke watch careful and go only until sugar is the color of an old copper penny. Pour onto cookie sheet lined with Silpat or treated parchment. Spread to even out. Chill at room temperature before breaking into smaller pieces.
